Euro pallets for racking for bagged food ingredients

Review the support arrangement before placing a loaded base in a rack. For bagged food ingredients, start with sack seam positions.

The buying brief for bagged food ingredients

Flexible sacks can sag into deck gaps and are sensitive to splinters and fasteners. Share sack dimensions and the actual stacking pattern.

Review the support arrangement before placing a loaded base in a rack. A general load description cannot establish suitability for unsupported spans between rack beams.

What needs particular attention

Unsupported sack seams may be damaged during pallet-truck or forklift handling. Share rack dimensions and support points, the packed load layout and the intended orientation. Ask for a confirmed suitability assessment rather than borrowing a rating from another pallet.

Prepare the enquiry

  • Include a photograph or drawing of bagged flour or dry ingredients supplied to a manufacturer, with the packed dimensions and loaded mass.
  • Explain sack seam positions; bag mass; deck gaps; interlocking pattern; barrier requirements so the proposed base can be compared with the load.
  • Add rack support; beam spacing; orientation; loaded weight distribution and distinguish confirmed requirements from items awaiting a decision.
  • Send the delivery postcode and unloading arrangements. Ask for availability, suitability and delivery to be confirmed in the quotation.

Use the Euro pallet quotation checklist to bring those details together. For a condition comparison, see new versus recycled Euro pallets.

Before agreeing the order

Review the proposed base against the packed goods, the handling equipment and the receiver’s written policy. If an eligible exchange pallet is required, state that separately from the 1200 × 800 footprint. Confirm treatment and marking requirements for export where relevant.

Keep the agreed specification with the dispatch instruction. If the packaging, load pattern or handling route changes, revisit the enquiry rather than assuming the previous base remains suitable.
